Replacement parts for nesting boxes.

I am trying to fix a place to house some chickens. Bought an old metal nesting box, 10 hole, at a garage sale. The bottom metal pieces for each hole need to be replaced. Saw where a hatchery had them made of plastic but don't know if they will fit and their customer service isn't open on the weekends to call them. I really don't want to spend alot of money and hate to pay shipping. Will still have to buy outdoor grass type carpet once I get the metal replaced. Any suggestions? I am new to this and appreciate your advice.

Can't you just run a piece of plywood across the entire bottom of all the boxes? And screw it into the metal.

I've seen nest boxes with replacement plywood bottoms. No screws required. Just lay them in the bottoms.

I saw some nest boxes today at a flea market that had 1x2 welded wire for bottoms with the carpet stuff on top of that.

The nestbox I have (10 Hole also) origanally came with 1/4 in woven wire. You could get some of the same and cut to size and use these. Or like people have said use plywood. The wire is only to make sure any droppings don't stay in nest with eggs. Mine is roll out (Front) though. I will prolly replace with plywood myself. Another one of those jobs I keep forgetting to make time for. Need before fall and my 80+ pullets come of age.
