What part? And that crazy boy🙄 my chickens love it here (west fl) but my neighbors roos have been following the stream that goes through everyone’s backyards (we have the smalles here on the Street of 1.7 acres) And I’ve seen them in my yard but wont go to my chickens……not looking for babies rn but it is what it is 🙄😂

We gave up looking. I really hope he shows up in the morning. If he does, we will wrangle him inside and no free ranging for a week. I was watching him, I really thought he was going in with the girls.
They can be sneaky, they don't want a predator to see where they go to bed and can be really hard to spot once there. Don't blame yourself for him tricking you, they are experts.

This sounds like a good plan. Let us know how it goes.

A new twist. Our new rooster hung out all day, escorted the ladies to the coop at bedtime(which he was in and out of all day) but he didn't go in. Instead he went into the thickest part of the woods. So now we are looking for him with flashlights.
Ok. This is why I would have said keep him contained for at least 3 days. Only 3 days... so he knows home. We do it for cats and dogs, I do it for chickens.
If an attack happened or a dog or even the matriarch freaked. He could have been gone, out alone and vulnerable not knowing his way home. So glad he is back, safe.
Congrats on your nice boy. ♡

So day 3 with Mister Peter. Took some worms out for the, well, can't call them the girls anymore, so the kids, lol. Those close came right away, but mom's not the bomb anymore. Then the roo called and the other half of the flock came from the back, about an acre away. Once they came up for treats, he didn't eat a single one. He every so slowly looked around, so aware that when the wind whistled in the trees he bristled flapping his wings for a moment. The girls didn't bicker and fuss for the first time EVER, evenly spaced, shuffling in several inches of leaves. Ha! We got the Chuck Norris of roosters, lol. I am so in awe of mother nature.
