Reporting belligerent members

If you feel a post is breaking BYC rules, just report it. The staff will review it and decide if it's something that needs attention.
Will do, thank you. I just don't want to be that old lady who's looking out her window with binoculars, reporting people to the HOA for growing mint in a planter. I should also review the rules in general... probably breaking half of them myself.

We all see things differently, but if it ruffles your feathers you might want to report it. We can always reject it because it really doesn't break the rules. We moderate as a team as well, so many irons in the fire help determine if it's a rule breaker. Reporting helps keep our forums family friendly and a pleasant place to be. So never be afraid to report something if you feel it's out of place. We rely heavily on our members to report posts that don't fit here, our small staff can't possibly keep up with all the posting that goes on out there. 😊

Good to know. Even short staffed, you guys do an incredible job. I very rarely see a hair out of place on this site. It's truly a labor of love and means a lot to people like myself.

This is not directed at you, Ms. Catumbrella, but your reply reminded me of this. :gig

How much leeway should we give? I really don't like the idea of reporting someone prematurely, but I also want to keep BYC a friendly and welcoming place. I understand it's a tough thing to navigate, but I don't like personal attacks on one's character/intentions.
Also, if you click on the member’s name you can “Ignore” them so you no longer see what they post.

I lived next door to a cemetery for a couple years (see, I'm going off topic and breaking the rules ), and you would not believe the things I saw people doing. So yes, I am that cat.
