No, I get what you mean. I guess I just feel bad that I haven’t taken that into consideration before.

I think it’s similar to with dogs and cats where a lot of people are used to seeing overweight animals so the healthy ones look skinny. It’s so deeply ingrained in society now (just look at all the”chonky pet” memes etc.) that it can be hard to tell sometimes. And I feel like with reptiles it might be harder to tell right away if they’re overweight? Like it might not be as obvious as with a dog? I think that middle one looks like a good weight too.

They can get fat easily and it can be tough to spot. IMO reptiles are also tricky because they can look much fatter or skinnier depending on what position they are in. Even Hoshi (who is looking extra slim and trim right now because he is coming out of a winter slow-down) will have those lil side rolls if he is splooted out with his belly pushed against the ground. And Tad looks huge when she is pancaked flat to absorb extra heat.

Thanks! That makes a lot of sense and is very interesting! I guess that’s true of just about everything though. I look a lot bigger when I hunch over as opposed to when I stand up straight and/or suck it in
