First of all, i wanted to take a min to thank EVERYONE who took the time to answer the original post!!! I got a lot of good feedback/answers that helped me prepare. It's really nice to have a place where people care enough to take a few minutes of their day to help others out [IMG]

Well, here's how the show went......

The first hour we got several strange looks as we were the only ones with birds at a reptile convention. So, we added a big sign that said "snake food" to the front of our table. After this, we had lots of gasps from people walking by (these people looked at us as though we had just sacrificed thier puppy) well as "do snakes eat birds?" Afer the first 50, i began replying, "there are no frozen rats in nature" and "snakes will eat anything that fits into their mouths".

After the first 2-3 hours i began asking people if they wanted snake food or people food (i had heard several say how tasty they were) and managed to hand out some cards to people who had eaten quail in the past but either had no place to hunt or the person who did the hunting was "back home".

During the last 15 mins i managed to sell (at 1/2 price) 4 chicks as feeders, 4 chicks as pets, 5 small feeders and 4 large feeders....the large feeders promptly broke their necks in the chinese food type boxes we put them in! Luckily they went to the guy from the pet store next door and he assured me his critters would eat them frozen, but i still felt bad......what good is live food that dies????

8 hours spent indoors during one of the nicest days left in summer for $53 #$^&&#$% THAT!

If anyone in the broadcasting area (kansas) wants to buy fresh/frozen professionally processed quail, shoot me a P.M. We recently found a USDA inspected facility that will process small birds.

Well I am sorry you didnt make out any better. I know up here people goes nuts for them as the pet stores can not always get mice or even frozen ones in the winter. Hope you have a few extra nice days you get to spend outside to make up for it.

Hopefully the ones that did purchase will come back for more and spread the word to more open-minded purchasers.

LOL at the sacrificing the puppy...

I have been asked for eggs in our area for reptiles... mostly monitor lizards. I think there is a market if you find it. I'm clueless about reptiles so I'd have no clue how to do it. Good Luck!

According to my wife who was watching the people talking to me, it might have been the UFO MAGNET IN MY NOSE....i dunno

On a brighter note, look what we found this morning....

This poor hen has been trying to set since the first of june and has been run off the nest by other chickens multiple times. One time she kept setting while a possum was eating eggs in the next nest.....and didn't even come off when me and mister 1911 served the eviction notice!!! Talk about determined....

Sorry your show fizzled that sux. As far as the UFO Magnet... all the reptile shows I've been to you would have fit right in...and probably had the least hardware ... of course I am in CA.

I'm going to approach a couple reptile stores in my area this week.. I'll let you know what kind of response I get.

Oh and congrats on the hen and chicks , glad she was finally successful! [IMG]

Grats on finding a usda processor though!

As for the rest, I guess some people failed biology.
