Okay, we had nine Delaware eggs going into lockdown a few days back. This morning when we got up...yoohoo we had a baby. Now we have three and another pipping. We were expecting them tomorrow. I have a REPTIPRO 5000 I got for Christmas. Our granddaughter has one also, but her eggs weren't fertile. She has fertile ones now though. When we get another one, it will be another REPTIPRO 5000. And Chris was wonderful. Customer service goes a long way with us.

So happy to hear you had a good experience! Good for you. I'm still in lock down with my eggs... Time just won't pass fast enough!

I'm on day 20, and still NOTHING!!!
I don't hear anything.. I'm just praying that something will happen overnight, because I'm starting to lose confident in myself for doing something wrong.. this is my first time, so we'll see!

STILL HANGING IN THERE!

Those last few days are the worst...but sometimes they're a little late. I think the more we worry, the longer they wait just to make us crazy!

Very true, Perolane. I jump out of bed first thing in the morning running to the bator to check.. lol

Hey, one question.. there's one egg that's leaking from the bottom.. it's not a whole lot, but it's leaking for sure. Is this what they mean by exploding egg?? should I remove it?? It doesn't appear to smell bad, but I guess this is NOT normal huh? It looks like gooey sap. Is a hatch messy like that?

I have my first chick in the Reptipro5000. Egg pipped yesterday afternoon, hatched late last night. No other eggs have pipped yet.

I am very concerned about air exchange in this 'bator, with live chicks, especially. I am not home during the day to open the door to put fresh air into it.

Please get the oozing egg out ASAP, its bad, and the bacteria can contaminate your other eggs. Exploding eggs actually blow up due to the internal pressure from it rotting, oozing eggs can also blow up, currently what is happening is the pressure pushing the rotten egg goo out through a small hole or hairline fracture.

Holy Crap!!! I just removed it.. I KNEW it was bad and should have removed when I first saw it leaking.. Man, it EGGSPLODED !!!!! when I picked it up. Luckily the explosion didn't affect the other eggs, it was on it's own at the side of the incubator. MAN, ok, people say it smells bad, but MAN I HAD NO IDEA it was THAT bad!
I had to get help clean it out.. I had a gag attack..! I am NEVER leaving an egg that leaks anymore. I thought maybe it was still alive since it started happening during lockdown and it didn't smell.. until it exploded! I'm still gagging!

Is there anyway to drill a hole behind the fan so it draws in fresh air constantly?

One of the biggest reasons for late embryonic death is lack of ventilation. People start plugging holes to get the humidity up and end up suffocating the chicks in the eggs. I've been looking at this incubator but won't purchase one until this is addressed.
