Ok let me start off by saying this is glwinger03 lainvest64 husband. Now I spent countless hours researching incubators prior to buying my wifes unit. And YES I did buy the REPTIPRO 5000! If you take the time to do the research you to will find that this unit has all you need to hatch your eggs. I sat here this moring and read ever comment posted on this website good and bad, well here's my take on this..This is AMERICA and we all have the right and choices to buy and sell whatever we wish. That being said here is where I'm going with this, REPITPRO owner CHRIS had made it clear to everyone that they buy these units and sell them under their company name. So here's my question to all you nay sayers. Do you buy gas for your vehicles at walmart, exxon, shell, bp, etc.... well I can tell each of you after spending 27 years in the oilfield in management all the gas comes from the same pipeline! Different companies add different additives to it and market it for sale. So are they KNOCKOFFS?? Come on people!! We own a monogramming business and sell denims shirts that we bought from another company but we sell them as ours is that a KNOCKOFF?? This blame game some of you are playing against REPITPRO is childish they sell a GREAT product and if you don't like theirs BUY ONE FROM SOMEBODY ELSE but stop the BASHING!! This company has stood behind their product for us and has the best customer service I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Chris the owner answers his on phone calls and e-mails himself. Try getting that from WALMART, EXXON, BP are any other company. I don't care if he is the only person working there are if he has 100 people working there, he's the one that answers all your questions and concerns. If you call us for monogramming are screening printing you will get me or my wife. Most of the time if there is an issue you would get a call back from me. If REPTIPRO is like we are then the less people involved the better that way you get personal service and that means alot to MOST people!
Ok I gonna get off MY SOAPBOX now but I will say this before I leave....

REPTIPRO has my BUSINESS!!!!!

Thanks Chris for the personal service your product is the best!!

Sincerely glwinger03

I'm sorry Linda..I don't understand. What are your concerns with hatching??

I have about 27 eggs in there now.. I'll say about 20 is developing WELL! You mention no air exchange.. that crossed my mind the other day.. I know you're not supposed to open the door during lock down, but is this necessary with this unit, or is there some kind of CO-exchange?

Another concern I had is when the chicks hatch.. any danger of them getting stuck in the suction fan on the bottom???

I've never had chicks get stuck in the fan vents. It looks like the actual fan "blades" are set further back, so there's no danger. I don't worry about the air exchange concern, but I do hand-turn my eggs ( I just like to

)...and I have opened the door during lock-down for different reasons. As quickly as the temp/humidity levels recover, I don't have problems with doing it.

Who has any eggs for me to put in my bator

AND this thread is for people that like the ReptiPro 5000 not for people that like to talk about where it came from and blah blah blah

Ill have this thread closed if that continues

No, not the fan unit, but the space between the edge of the shelf and the door, where a chick just might drop a foot and get caught. Just thinking ahead, worrying, as I am wont to do.

You know that thick dark grey foam insulation you'd put around doors, windows, or window ac's.....it's usually sticky on one side...I put that on the edge of the shelf...works perfect!!

Sounds good! The unit seems to hold humidity very well, and the temperature raises quickly.

Ahhhh, excellent idea! Thanks!!!

To answer the question about the lllreptile guy and his findings is impossible for me to do. I have not seen anyone elses units. LLL Reptile , sure hatch, big apple herp and pet supply, and many other carried our unit for months but then decided to buy their models elsewhere. Some have even resorted to cybersquatting practices by using our product name on their websites still but selling a different product. See this page http://www.surehatch.com/ReptiPro-Model-5000-Digital-Reptile-Egg-Incubator.htm What is going on here is illegal but without tens of thousands of dollars to throw at attorneys fees there is not much we can do about it. I have consulted several lawyers and they say that we are looking at 50k plus for litigation. That sucks.

You can also see this page here and the video that was originally used for our product. Now they are using the same video that has our logo on it to sell their own variation http://www.bigappleherp.com/Accu-Temp-6000-Reptile-Incubator-Digital-Reptile-Incubator

These
guys are really gunning to put all us little guys out of business. I have over a dozen examples of these same type of illegal activities from people that we used to have great relationships with. Some people say that is just business but i say bull#@*! There is no excuse for these companies to resort to illegal activities. This is definitely not fair trade.
