ReptiPro 6000 Digital Egg Incubators- Exclusive BYC Price!

Hatching eggs on bottom shelf; You can do this, but the bottom will be a few degrees cooler. This can be remedied by making a 3rd shelf out of whatever (wood, styrofoam, wire, fencing, plastic, etc), about 2" up off the floor. This is what I've done. Or if you can, you can order an extra Reptipro shelf and just give it 4 legs to raise it up off the bottom.

I've also used a plastic fencing material to lay over the shelves for hatch; a cheap 1/4" green plastic fencing I purchased for chick and quail pens. I popped a shelf out, traced the shape/size onto the fencing and cut it out with scissors. I can just pop it over the shelf for hatch.

Turkey eggs; This incubator is limited only to your creativity :p I've fit as many as 80 chicken eggs in it (16 of which were bantams). But this requires egg stacking, careful hand-turning, and (if you don't have many egg/fertility failures) having a second incubator to help with hatch. I would safely say at least 20 turkey eggs with the original 2 shelves, no stacking. But probably many more, especially if you added a 3rd shelf.

LOVE MY REPTIPRO GUYS!

I hatched out about 150 chicks in my reptipro this spring. By the end of the season I retired my LG. I was running both full-time but the RP is so much easier to use I don't even wanna plug my LG in. I think I'll sell it and get another RP at some point!

I'd like to add that the RP has pretty awesome humidity retention. As an unintentional test, I had a friend whose broody hen sat a huge clutch of eggs (unbeknownst to them at first), hatched out one, and abandoned the nest. So I took the last 12 eggs home and popped them in my RP. I love this thing, I just hit the ON button and it's ready to go!

Anyways, the eggs were (and still are) hatching every 2-4 days. I've had that thing open every day turning the younger eggs and hoping the older eggs will still hatch okay. Only 3 eggs left and they still look great! Expecting them to hatch in the next 3 days.

Thank you very much for answering...

EDITED: I had posted that my Reptipro stopped working. The fault of the incubator failure was traced to a short in the resident electrical system. That's been repaired and the bator is working again! Hopefully the eggs will be alright. I wasn't anticipating problems with the Reptipro and I'm actually pleased that it doesn't appear to have sustained damage from the electrical issues :) Will keep you posted if need be!
