I miss a lot of things because I tend to browse via New Posts, and threads I like to read or questions I would've been able to answer get hidden behind a load of intro posts from someone who'll quite likely never post again and other stuff like sales/rehoming threads that are irrelevant to me because I'm on the other side of the world.

If there's enough interest from other posters, I wonder if mods would consider either enabling the 'ignore thread' and/or 'ignore forum' options, so it's possible to have certain threads or forums not show up in new posts, and/or changing the maximum number of threads that can be displayed under New Posts?

(To be clear, I'm not objecting to the existence of e.g. intro threads or threads for rehoming birds in a specific US state or whatever. I'd just like the option to either not have them take up space in the New Posts list, or for New Posts space not to be at a premium because it'll show more than four pages of the very most recent threads.
I know I could browse by individual forums but that's much more time consuming and I prefer not to.)

This is something I have wished BYC had for years now. I've resorted to ignoring specific users as the only option to remove a thread/s from showing up in my feed, and that is far from something I like doing.
I have no issue with specifically welcome threads or anything but it makes perfect sense to me for people to be able to adjust their use of the forum to however is most effective to them. Like ignoring the welcome forum or the random ramblings, to remove off topic threads that they have no interest in.

I voted for "ignore thread", because of too many repititous threads. Too many people don't search "Chicken google" or don't do a search here, before posting their issue.......
