I did a search using the search engine and didn't find exactly what I needed to know.
What is the lowest temperature that the egg can be if you are going to hatch them out?
What is the difference between 30 degree outside weather and 35-40 degree refrigerator? Will they still hatch?

yep, i have hatched several chicks for the fridge, they were in for 3 days, and there was no change in the hatch. Just remember, you must warm the egg up very slowly, if you dont it will sweat and thats not good.

Should I set them out on the counter? If so, for how long?

Wanted to add that I will be putting them under a broody hen that has been broody for about 1 1/2 weeks now.

yes, set them on the counter until they are room temp like 3 or 4 hours. is the hen already sitting on eggs? if so, i wouldnt set more eggs under her, she will probably leave the nest when the first ones hatch. if not, go ahead and set them.

She is sitting on nothing right now, she did have golf balls for a few days, but we took them away in hopes that she would get off the nest.

Is it too cold out for her to have babies right now?
