I could be totally wrong, but they do appear to be mature. There really is no way of knowing, but I would guess they're at least 2/3 years old.

Lift up their tails, are their vents dry and tight, or loose and moist, how many fingers can fit across their vents? About 3 can be expected of a good layer, less of a poor one. Tight vented small opening vents show you that their not really in their prime anymore. There are ways that can give you guesses, feather color and closeness, combs, but you found them on the road, so who knows how accurate that is.
