My nephew found him/her a couple weeks ago and brought it to me. My husband actually fell in love with it. He/she follows me around everywhere. it might be a girl because she is very squeaky toy loud. But still fuzzy cant tell yet. Thanks for your input. I am an animal lover will always put forth the greatest effort for all animals to have a home

At that age, you should be hearing some loud squeaking but a quack should pop out now and then. Male ducklings that age will have a raspy kind of peep.

She looks like a black Swedish mix. That's my guess since my black Swedish looks so much like that, despite the white on the head and beak. Does she/he get on well with the chickens? Just curious. You might hear a lot of people tell you that she needs a friend- while true of some some- was not true for my duck. She has reign over the whole yard and is an only child, so I keep her company, and she is fine.

- Good Luck,
Nicole and Quackers

And one of my ducks hangs around with my chucks all day and night, to the point where she gets upset if she can't see them! The other ducks accept her but beyond pond time she's a chicken - we called her Bonkers...
So you don't need a ducky friend unless they won't gel together.
Good luck and welcome to the wonderful world of ducks :)
