Rescue gander will he fit in?

It’s possible she could switch, but I think it’s unlikely. Once geese are bonded they don’t like switching partners generally.

Well he’s definitely on the prowl but Waffles is sticking up for his girl. Bruce is stuck to them now and tries to do the before mating poke to pancake but they haven’t gone beyond that I def don’t think waffles will let that happen. They are a little tripod for now so I guess all is well.

Hi all so we often rescue geese, ducks, chickens who need homes or are injured. My fear is always if the new comer will fit in. Fortunately everyone we’ve added seems to live in harmony.
We have 11 chickens 2 turkeys 7 ducks 1 drake and 2 ganders.
Our one gander ( Luce) aka Lucifer has his mating hissy fit time. He has one pekin main lady who he tries to mate and the other 4 including drake are his flock. The other gander has 2 pekin girls which he doesn’t try to mate. He attacked the other gander a lot and we had to separate them for a few months but they are back together and all is well. He’s not an aggressive goose he’s mostly all talk.
Someone dropped a gander off at a friends farm who doesn’t have any fowl just turkeys etc. He asked if we can take him he says he seems friendly he hasn’t attacking any of the birds or animals he just seems to be looking for a mate or familiar animals or people.

My question is does anyone have only ganders? How do they get along?

Thanks I didn’t even know it was featured lol. So Bruce- Oh my Bruce. Well he has successfully infiltrated the duo known as Pancake and Waffles. He is now in a love triangle with them and is very bossy hahah. He actually stole Pancake from Waffles which I feel a little bad about but they are still all together as a trio.
Bruce is the loudest of everyone and maybe that’s why he got dumped even tho that’s a horrible reason. Him and Luce haven’t fought. He turned on his friend Wilson the turkey and pokes him in the butt often ( no bite though). I told him he is a fareweather friend!
It’s been a pretty happy family and Bruce is annoying but sweet at heart he lets me pet him mostly when he has no choice and is cornered in the coop lol but I’ll take it. We are hopefully still on schedule to receive goslings and 3 of my incubated pancake eggs are externally pipped right now!
I’m hoping either Bruce or Waffles finds a new mate when the others are old enough. We got all but one female. So that’s 6 to choose from!
So yes Bruce is part of the family he is the boss of his love triangle and very happy . I’m glad we rescued the loud mouth lol.

Glad to hear it’s worked out! You never know just how it will work out but geese seem to make it work sometimes in the weirdest ways!

Thank you haha they have such amazing personalities I can never figure them out. The saga continues tho with these new babies hatching and the goslings coming in.. can’t wait lol
