Hi All,
I'm new here. I got 6 rescue hens 2 week ago. They were battery hens and I think they are a year old. They looked really miserable and bald when they arrived. Now they're starting to act like regular chickens. One of them has this bulge on her butt. She seems to be walking, eating, drinking, and pooping fine. She doesn't seem off form. I'm going to try and attach a photo. If any of you can shed light on this let me know. I wouldn't want her in any pain. Thanks in advance.

Hi Mystery Chicken, it feels soft like a water balloon.
She may be suffering from Ascites(Water Belly), which is chronic, & can be only managed, by draining the fluid from the abdomen with a syringe, & needle.(I can't do this, so I put my hen down, she was too far gone far treatment) There's no cure if I remember correctly.

Oh no. I think I'll get the vet to look at her then. I don't want her in any pain or poor quality of life.
