My rescue hen has had (what i thought) vent gleet for 2 months. I've been giving her daily epson salts baths and have tried 3 types of anti-fungal creams and orally along with probiotics. Nothing is working. Vet (over the phone) thinks it maybe egg peritonitis as the fungal treatments didn't work but strange that she's still alive after 2 months. Anyway, her skin has started to turn necrotic. She's my second hen to get necrotic skin. Does anyone know what's wrong with her and why is this happening?

Pics of necrotic skin would be most helpful here.

What makes you think that it is vent gleet?

Ex battery hens often suffer from kidney disease with urates just running down their butts. Epsom salt baths or other treatment attempts would not work in this case.

Basically she has constant severe white discharge. Other than that, she seems completely healthy. I don’t think it’s vent gleet anymore but I can’t find anything online to help me diagnose her. I’ve been in contact with several vets and none will see her. These are my first hens. I will post photos tomorrow, she’s in bed right now (10:47pm in Ireland).

Here's how to add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

This is her today. It’s doesn’t look too bad right now because she had a bath but it gets worse throughout the day. My last hen had the exact same thing and I’m scared her necrosis will end up like hers.

This looks as if there is some feather plucking going on as well. Did you see another hen plucking their butts? This often causes injuries that get infected and sometimes necrotic.
