Someone local just posted looking for someone to pick up some chickens. Didn't say number just that there is hens and roos both. Apparently they were at a trailer park that is being demolished but were abandon.

The person who picked them up doesn't want them nor keep them she just got them out of immediate danger.

What would you do? No history on them, I can pull my current girls into my garage and put the new ones in the chicken coop (more space out there plus it'd keep everything more separated). Or would you just move on and not bother?

We planned on adding more hens this spring but we just weren't planning on anything like this right now this second.....plus I really don't want a bunch of jerk-wad roos but I guess they could go to freezer camp if they're REALLY unruly.

Do you know how many hens their are and how many rosters? Also I think if you have the space and time to bring them in I would say to go for it!

I have plenty of both, I work from home. We usually have 20-30 chickens in our coop (its a big out building/barn we converted into a coop). We planned to add a bunch of chickens this spring we just didn't want chicks in the winter

put the new one in the garage so if they hacve dieases it does not afferc your coop

My worry about that is that door is the one we go in and out of our home. So if they were sick I'd be tracking that all over the place spreading it. In the coop I can be more careful with not tracking it all around if there was a problem. Plus roosters in my garage just doesn't sound fun trying to leave to take my kiddos to school and having to potentially get in a ninja fight with a rooster.
