I meant to add the reson for sharing was so you could compare your two to my group of females - thank you for the compliment

Fancy was already 3 times speedys size and he was less then a year old.

Been looking for a set of mallards and Muscovy's have peaked my interest. Well I found some for sale that were headed to auction. Got a mallard drake, 2 mallard hens and a male and female Muscovy pair. They couldn't be happier in their new home. Conditions weren't the best where they came from. That gives me 10 ducks along with a slew of chickens lol

I’m a little late, but congrats on your ducks! Both muscovies are female. Your mallard derived ducks are Rouens, much too large to be mallards.

At two years old the male should be much larger than the female. I'd also say the caruncles(red stuff on the face) should be bigger at that age. My smallest drake is still twice the size of the largest duck. Either the age is off or you have 2 females.

I have 2 drakes and 4 ducks, I am looking to get more females soon.

The silver one and the chocolate one are drakes both under a year old. The black duck is much smaller than both of them.

Look out for hissing. That will be the best indicator of a drake with muscovies.
