Rescued 5 ducks

Feel free to ask questions :)

The black feathered Muscovy may be the male, Lol. I'm doing some reading to educate myself. So yea...... Don't take my word for the sexes of each.

There are others on here (Miss Lydia and JPat come to mind) who are very experienced with Muscovy ducks who helped me when I was questioning the sex of my two young ‘Scovies. I finally figured mine out (after about 6 months :lau), but still find Muscovy sexing to be challenging :barnie That being said, I’m 95% sure that at least your black/white one is a hen :)

How lovely. I have massive doubts that is a pair of Muscovy however that looks like two females.. which frankly is better anyways, you don't want to many drakes...

Listen to them, males only hiss.. whereas the females have a broad range of vocals, from honking, trilling, chirping and hissing too...Drakes are also bigger, bigger legs, feet and just overall. Females are smaller and more "delicate"

I think i can find a pic from forever ago to show male/female comparison Muscovies.

Here duck left, drake right and they were young back then... part of my original flock.. actually where the journey began.

If they are both females I'm fine with that. I tried to get a pair so I could breed Muscovies. So far they are they are really laid back.

I think I see a second stripe on the “mallard” hens. Does not make any difference as long as you keep them too fat to fly. Our Rouen can fly but not high and not more than 30 feet or so.

Oh I've seen the "mallard" hens flap theirs wings for a good bit like they are trying to take flight Lol
