Hey folks! I am in Miami, Florida. Yesterday I confronted a group of santeria practitioners in the process of sacrificing multiple chickens and pigeons in some messed up religious ceremony. I was too late to save 2 of the hens But we did manage to save 6 adult hens and over a dozen homing pigeons. It turned out that the homing pigeons had been stolen from a breeder the night before. Within 3 hours of the released the breeder reported the homing pigeons started arriving at his home. One white racing pigeon was still missing it was valued at over $2000. In total a dozen are still missing.

The hens appear to be someone's pets. They are large red hens are most stressed. Not sure what breed but they are quite large. Their wings are clipped. The black hens and the Orpingtons fared better and are smaller adults. Other than being extremely stressed from being jammed in tiny boxes (some together) they look to be in pretty good shape. I'm posting photos. I am not posting photos of the sacrificed animals. Heartbreaking.

I'd love to find the owners if that's possible. Otherwise I'd like to find a good home for them. I cannot take on any more birds. Not enough space : ( I am treating them for parasites and added drench to their water. Any tips would be helpful.

Someone is missing them!
Damn shame they stole birds.
Maybe some rooster booster to help with the stress. Good work.

You're a hero 👏

Maybe a little fruit and yogurt if you have any to spare along with some layers feed.

I'm so pleased you managed to rescue them 💓

Thanks : ) Just trying to be a good humane human.

They have good food now. One of the big red hens is looking rough. She was so crushed in that box. It has to hurt.
