That insect is called a pigeon fly. I HATE THEM.. they give me the creeps so bad. If you can catch it kill it!!! The feed by sucking the blood from the pigeon. One of 2 don't hurt the pigeon.. but they get irritated and itchy as you would think. A lot can kill a pigeon as they sap their strength.

The green poop is caused when the bird is starving and has no food in its system.

You did right to clean up the birds feathers.

That Pox is caused by a virus. It will only infect other pigeons.. usually only young ones. So you don't have to worry about your ducks or chickens getting sick with this.

Your bird has very mild dry pox. This is not serious at all and the warts will eventually just turn black and fall off.

If you birds is still skinny feed it as much as it will take of a high protein feed. You can try different methods. I foster a lot of rescued pigeon squabs over the years and have tried most ways. In the end if you just have one bird here is the method I find the most easy.

1. Mix up some chicken chick feed with warm water into a sludgy paste. For weak birds make it more watery to hydrate them.

2. Pour this mix into a small plastic bag.

3. Cut one corner off the bottom of the bag just large enough to get the pigeons beak into it and let it open its beak... not too large as to let the mix all come running out.

4. Put the pigeon on a flat surface (or in a box so it can't stumble about). Gently push the pigeons beak into the hole in the bag into the food mix.

5. The bird should start to gulp down the food mix. You can wiggle the bag back and forth a bit as if to copy the movement of the pigeon parents and stimulate the pigeon baby to feed.

6. It will tell you when its full when it refuses any more food. You will be able to see and feel the crop is full of the food.

7. When you notice the crop is nearly empty give it more food. For a weak bird or young bird it will require several small feedings a day. As is gets stronger and bigger it will only need 2 or 3 feedings per day. Always feed just before you go to bed.. so its got food to last it through the night.

You can make a batch of this feed to last the day or 2. It will get thicker the longer you leave it so you just need to add more warm water to it. Make sure its not too hot to burn the baby.

Also after the feedings make sure you clean up the pigeons face with a cloth to stop any spilt feed messing up its feathers.

TIP. If the bird is having trouble digesting the food.. you can add some stewed apples to the mix.. which helps its digestion a lot.

If you need any more help please PM me. Good luck to you and your pigeon!
