Best to have someone more roundly knowledgeable in pheasants than I to confirm ID. It is clearly a gallioform and not a chicken or turkey which are the species I know best.

I have been doing some research and white pheasants are sold in the UK for shooting birds. I guess it could also have been thrown out of the nest for being the odd one. On other threads there seems to be some dispute as to whether a pheasant or partridge can be kept with chickens. It is clearly tame now so reluctant to release it. Opinions gratefully received.
