Rescued gosling with splayed legs.

Someone had posted on CL about a gosling they got as a joke. Me being the nut I am I went to get it.
The poor thing is a couple days old already and splayed legs. I rushed out of that place quick and brought him to a friends house that has some geese of her own.
My poor darling is an African. And not adjusting to well right now with taped legs. The darling makes a lot of noise and just flops all over the place.

Darling gets worn out from all the thrashing. I really hope the darling makes it.
Oh and we have no name still but darling since we don't know boy or girl.

you need to hobble the legs right away sorry i dont have the link right handy maybe someone else can post to help ya out quickly on this.

I had a friend do this on my way home from picking up the gosling.
It is such a needy little thing!

It calms down ONLY when I am holding it.

I got asked by a workmate last year if I could help his MIL 's gosling.. Poor little thing was in a bad way when I got it... But after just a week - it was walking around as normal. So im sure if I could fix this one.....

Your one sure must have a great chance of recovery. My little visitor was already a few weeks old when brought to me. It hadnt been able to walk for over two weeks. Being so young Im sure you little one will be a liitle easier to handle than my older very upset gosling that was taken away form the mother goose. Im amazed this guy was still alive at all. But with some TLC and a good swim to clean itself up as well - it was alot happier at the end of its stay at my house.

Good to hear you have its legs taped already. I made a larger hole in a tissue box for this one to sit in. Maybe you can do something similar for your littleone to keep it more upright.

Sure hope you end up with a happy ending with your little darling one.

I took the tape off this morning to check the legs. Still splayed but can actually walk a little! Another day and lots of walking and I think it will be a lot better.
The kids are doing great on encouraging "Darling" to follow them around the living room.
My 5 year old was playing Duck, Duck Goose!
