Hi everyone! I came across a women who had a female duck in need of a home. Which was perfect because we just rescued a male from the side of the road (someone dumped him and 5 others. Was only able to rescue him 😞) I was told she’s a Grimaud Pekin. But the poor girl looks terrible. She’s missing a part of skin off her actual wing causing her to bleed and she has a past leg injury that was never addressed so it’s now quite large and turns in slightly. And she stinks... boy does she stink. I have her in the tub to soak so she can hopefully clean what feathers she has. I was going to apply some wound cream. Anything else I should do? Definitely keeping her inside till some feathers grow in...

All cleaned up! Wish I could get a video on here. She’s so loud 😅😅 sounds more like a honk than a quack. Already love her 💜 We do plan on getting more females as well but for right now the plan is to keep her inside and then outside and separate until healed. Our male did see her and he ran 🤦🏻‍♀️ He’s afraid of the world lol. From what I saw there was about 8 drakes and she she had taken to hiding in the chicken coop to get away but the chickens were picking at her because she was already bleeding so all around bad scenario.
