Hi all I rescued a pigeon last evening he's hanging from a tree stuck with kite thread . His wings were badly knotted with thread.
He can't fly only run his wing is swell

I take him home he seems young and healthy but I'm scared of lice and mites cause I have chickens also

Pls suggest me something

I'm keep changing the sheets if he run on them
He didn't itching or puff like usually lice make them to do

If he has any lice or mites you should be able to see them by looking closely.
If he does, then a quick spray with a permethrin based product should eliminate them.
Bless you for saving his life. :love

He does look young and healthy.

Phew thank god yeah we don't see any also he doesn't itching his body or feathers
Awww 💛 my dad save him he was hanging from tree knotted with kites thread :(

He's young so we tube feed him

I knew of a cat who got his back leg tangled in a mini blind cord. When he was found hanging from the cord by his leg and taken down his leg became very swollen. Glad to say he recovered. I hope your bird does so as well. Maybe you know of some herbal remedies to support his healing. I like to use homeopathic remedies (in pelleted form is readily accepted by birds). Arnica Montana is good for trauma and swelling.
