Rescued Poultry Please show me your pictures !

Amber (Welsummer/Silver Phoenix cross) and Rhoda (RIR/Silver Phoenix cross) are sisters that were to be culled from a flock. I took them in and they are great layers and the sweetest hens.

This is myrtle...
IMG_0137.jpg

Myrtle was left behind at a trailer with a mean rooster, three dogs, and kittens. No food no water, 100 degree heat. I decided to take the two chickens because I knew the dog warden wouldnt take them and they would die first. I had them for 4 days when the "owner" returned while we were water the dogs there. He talked about how he was takin care of them and wondered who would steal his chickens, and electronics? Well not wanting to be accused of steal everything else I fessed up to the chickens and payed him 14 dollars for both. She is great. She will run up to my car door when I get hone and greet me. She lays me 5 eggs a week.

here's my rescued chicken, i found her along the road on a mountain road, she was sitting in the snow, she's so happy now, she was out roaming with my chickens this am, having fun being a chicken
