I could this silkie at an absolute disgusting poultry farm. He skin looks terrible. Are these scabs on her skin from overcrowding or what?

Could it be mites? That's what crossed my mind. I would clean her up with a warm bath, treat for mites (just in case), permethrin I b rinse water? Dry then a careful thorough inspect.
I didn't see any mites. New to this. The People I got her from said she is molting. 4 wks old

They also have 10-12 wk olds in a brooder. Is that normal. No sunlight coming in that stack of Brooders and ammonia smell was off the charts. May not know what I'm talking about, but I have a flock of 8 12 wk olds and it never smells that way. Thanks for the reply and suggestions 😀

Clean the droppings off of her, possible in a warm bath inside a warm house, and then towel and blow dry her. Keep her warm. She may not have grown in all of her feathers if just 4 weeks old, but she would not be molting. Check closely for lice or mites on her skin under her vent and all over. She may have been feather picked by others. Watch for signs of coccdiosis (lethargy, standing hunched, runny poops, and not eating. I would get a weight on her with a kitchen scale, and just keep an eye on her.

Thanks. Very active little bird.

I did the warm water and then I rubbed her down with paper towels. Put some coconut oil on the scabs and dryer skin. She looks better already. Can't figure out what color she is going to be. Thinking grey or blue. Thanks again for all your help!
