Rescued silkie chick

Thank goodness you rescued her! She's going to live her best life . Sounds like she was housed in horrible conditions.

I still want to gag when I think about it. I also took a black copper Maran that was in a brooder and at least 10 to 12 wks old and a naked neck about 8 to 10 wks old in terrible condition. They can't walk well because they couldn't stand in the brooder. Who leaves chicks that old in a brooder 6 inches tall? They are being spoiled right now in a major way!

Sad. I have a sad silky story, but not that brutal.
I went to a feed store one time and wanted to get baby chicks. They had new ones and some silkies that were a couple weeks old. I saw the silky had a doo-doo stain on her white back and now one would adopt her because of it. So I did even though she was older and bigger then the other chicks I got. She lived to be 10 years.
