Resending shipped eggs, when P.O. broke them???

I do put that on my listings... One said apparently I didn't know how to pack them. The other said she's never EVER gotten a broken package of eggs in her 6 years of ordering. Of course I ask for pictures, one will send tomorrow, hopefully.

I ship with a split in half paper egg carton. 2x3 sides. Wrap egg or place in padded base, put bubble wrap or more filling on top, close lid. Before wrapping I make sure each is not shaking around. I use an upside down stryofoam egg carton in the bottom as cushion. then put in wrapped 1/2 cartons then put more bubble wrap or newspaper wads around and on top of cartons.

*The eggs were packed well, no broken, thanks, I will let you know the hatch rate
*packaged well shipped fast pleasure doing buisness thankyou
* Eggs arrived on time and were well packed. Look forward to the hatch. Thanks!
*WOW got here so fast and safe not one egg broke to thank you so much
*Got the eggs. Look great none broken. Thanks AAAAA+++++

I get really annoyed with buyers (and I am a buyer, not seller) that assume the seller packed badly when the PO is KNOWN for playing soccer with the packages. They will not insure hatching eggs, and there are just as many jerks in the postal service as there are in the rest of the world.

The post master told me it didn't matter what i wrote on the box, all the boxes go on a conveyor and things happen. I had the same luck with some marked fragile as I did with ones not marked.

As for the live embryo thing, my sister-in-law did that one time and it arrive 2 days late and the box was opened by P.o. people and the lady said it had a white powder inside the box when she opened it. Weird!!!

I'll just resend again, and if it happens again... well then, oh well.

I'm going to try your method of wrapping each egg. It's worth a try and I'm up for not having anymore cracked or broken!
I'm nervous got 2 orders of 3 dozen to send out tomorrow. Will ship in separate boxes 12-18 in each of course, they paid extra for shipping anyway, so wish me luck and good juju!!!

My one to california tomorrow would have cost almost 2 times as much if I sent if UPS. I definitely LOOKED at this option!

What state are you in and what kind of eggs do you have? (hatchaholic here, due 2/3 with no more eggs)

I'm in SW michigan, and have mutt eggs :) olive eggers, pink eggers, dark blue eggers, and mostly just mutts until they get separated into their pens in the springs, everyone is running together. Weirdo combinations right now. Ever seen a cornchins? LOL My dark cornish are mating with my bantam cochins... guy got 2 dozen eggs last week (unharmed), he says he loves mixing bantams...

Hmm interesting... Are there other alternatives with shipping? Seems like some eggs are so expensive a little more in shipping would be worth it if they could be insured or quaranteed or something?

Remembering i did send extras in one batch so those didn't get sent in medium box. Those were the one of the ones that broke, but shipped them in taller box with extra padding, i don't know. Definitely time to try a new way of packing. For eggs over a dozen. 99% of the time I only ship 12, so I'll stick with my method on those. But the other one that broke was just 12.

Your right, it's bound to happen sooner or later, just turns me off to shipping anymore and making me stress out.
