You may still have the disease in your ground. I would suggest going to a hardware store or feed store and getting hydrated lime. Cover the ground with it. Then, rake it in good. Putting lime in your pen 2 or 3 times a year will help keep disease and parasites away.

Obviously this thread is old, but I am curious what happened with those chickens, did they all lay ok when they were old enough? Did you treat the ground? did the symptoms return?
