I have a 3 month old Americana that I have raised since she was 1 wk old. At 2 months I put her in a chicken tractor in the chicken yard. have been letting her out during the day. She will not join the group and when the rest of the chickens get near she runs. What can I do to get her to feel more comfortable with the rest of the group?

I've found that the chicks form bonds with each other when very young and these bonds last a lifetime. I have two SS who are now 4 1/2 years old. Still side by side constantly and ignore the rest of the flock.
I also have a bird who lost the other three of the quad she was a part of. She remains solo and aloof, and will not join the other birds. I've had others who lost their "best friend" and were loners the rest of their lives. So there may be nothing you can do. It is her choice.

I think you'll have to put her in the coop a few times for the night. I think she will eventually figure it out. If the other birds are really picking on her, she may be avoiding the coop for that reason.
