In the Brooder
My ex-boyfriend has a pitbull on a chain in the yard and he lets all the birds wander around freely. Unsurprisingly, our duck Ponyo must have wandered too close and the dog got ahold of him. My ex rushed out to get Ponyo and he has Ponyo inside now, on a towel with some water and he's been cleaning him up a bit but he says Ponyo has a big open wound on his chest, and ponyo looks like he's missing feathers on his back. I'm not with the bird, this is all the information i know. I've read other forums on here and have been trying to tell my ex what to do to help Ponyo but more advice from expeirenced bird owners would really help.
I told him to clean all the wounds and check Ponyo's full body for injuries, make sure he doesn't have any broken bones, i told him to try and give him leafy greens or egg yolks if he felt like eating, Ponyo mostly lays and drinks water right now.
Please help my stupid ex not lose our duck.
Edit: Ponyo passed away before he could be taken to a vet due to the severity of his chest wound.
