I just got a chick yesterday from a breeder...today the chick pooped a foamy white poop and then when foam went away there was a little segmented worm crawling around...I'm pretty sure it's a tapeworm...I messaged the lady and she's got no clue how the chick has a worm...they've NEVER been outside...what do I do? All the stores are closed today through Monday...I'm a newbie and know NOTHING about this...please help!

How old is the chick? I would do a search for any information from casportpony or Dawg53, to mention just a few. They are very informative. Safeguard is available at TSC for worms in chickens. I got the paste in the horse section. According to age and size, some of the more experienced chicken farmers can give you good dosage information.

She is 2 weeks old...it's really confusing because I know what I saw...it was a little worm as soon as she pooped...but now her poops look normal, the last 10+ have looked better than when we first got her yesterday...and NO more worms...the worm looked weird too...not like anything else I've seen while searching for answers...it was tiny, like less than 1/4" looked segmented (but not like rice)...looked almost like a maggot or mealworm but TINY and little in color...does that sound like anything you've heard of?

EDITED to add: this has been a brooder chick for all it's life...never been outside or anything...only in brooder with other chicks that have been in brooder all of their lives...

Did it look about this size?

actually, it sounds like what I had in my chicks, but they were 2 months old. From what I understand, if you see one, there are many others in chick. I gave mine a peasize dose of paste every day for 5 days, as advised by Dawg53. Look for a picture of cecal worms. That is what mine looked like. I didn't get a picture because another chick smashed it into the ground as I watched it squirm.

Arent those long though? This was so small...almoat didnt see it...if we hadnt been sitting there we would have never seen it...i oringally thought tapeworm because thats the only worm i know of with segments...but it didnt look like the ones ive seen in dogs...

I think they must be small since they are compared in size to that coin. That was about the size of mine beside of a dime or penny

Well thats true...but this was even smaller...not even half a dime length...and didnt quite look like that...however with looking through the link posted above maybe it is cecal...it was in cecal poo...i have no idea!
