respiratory disease again, are my 3 month olds doomed for death?

4kidZ thanks for the reply. What does ILT & CRD stand for?

I checked and I do not have a place within 4 hours of me to have birds tested. Even at this point driving 4 hours with my 2 kids is not a option.

I am not a bad person and my DH said if there was a local vet then we could do it.

Oh thanks so much Wynette! I found a vet 1.5 hours from me. I sent them a e-mail. I will keep you posted. And this is what I wrote:

Hi there. My name is Mary Freeman. I have had a disease in my flock of chickens. Many died months ago and now I have some ill 3 month old chicks. Symtoms seems to be bubbles in some, but now all the chickens eyes, eyes close shut, nasal discharge & in the later stages of the illness sneezing, raspy sounding breathing. They sound like they have a bad cold.

SO far I have not had any of my 3 month old chicks die from this disease. Is there a way you can test a live chick so I can know exactually know what disease my chicks have? And how much would it cost for me to bring 1 chick in for testing?

Please call me at 850-xxx-xxxx

I also wanted to add in here that the quarentee chicks are looking good! Like all were wide eyed and looking at me....well, all except 1. So that makes me feel good. Still unsure of what thier fate is at this point, but they are all looking good.
