Respiratory Disease/Infection in New Hen

Infectious laryngotracheitis a disease caused by a virus, can cause bloody secretions from the nostrils and beak, which may be slung around on walls of the coop. It won't respond to antibiotics, and can be complicated by secondary bacterial infections which might. It can last for weeks, and the flock should be considered as carriers, and closed to new birds. If you lose one or more, send in a bird or two to get a necropsy by your state vet. Here is some more info:
