Does anyone know what would cause a baby chick to be breathing hard and opening its mouth? I tried posting a video but it’s not letting me for some reason..... we brought them home yesterday morning and only one little one out of 12 is having problems it’s been breathing heavy since we got here and doesn’t open it’s eyes or try to stand very much it just lays over whenever it’s at... she won’t eat or drink by herself I’ve been feeding her water with electrolytes through a syringe but she has been pooping what can I do to help

Hi @Smtrainor :frow Welcome To BYC
How is your chick today?
Do you have photos you would like to share.
The video would be good if you can provide us a link to that.

Where did the chicks come from? Were they shipped or come from a feed store?

Get some Poultry NutriDrench and give it a couple of drops, a drop at a time. To safely get it drinking, dip it’s beak into water for a second and let it swallow and repeat this several times. You can place a few drops on a spoon new the beak, but the chick needs to drink it themselves. Until you get PND, you can put a little sugar in water.
