Respiratory honking

Just following this too. Have one that was sitting on my lap tonight and she sounded like she was purring and here she is congested. :( Have a couple others sneezing occasionally. The heat was horrible over the weekend. Did everything I could to try and keep them comfortable but short of bringing them in the air conditioned house, had no idea what else to do. Could the heat be the cause of this?
I think it is similar to people in that high heat and humidity can present respiratory issues. I would try some VetRX on their nostrils, comb, lobes.

Folks, I've got a third chicken with a respiratory rasp or honking. I've ordered valbazen in case it could be worms, but I think it's unlikely... no visible worms in stool, throat... I've tried 5 days of Tylosin in their water. Any other ideas?

Today I am about to give a second dose of Valbazen. Since the first dose 10 days ago, the honking has reduced to where I have only heart it once, and in only one chicken.

Viruses will not respond to Tylan. Infectious bronchitis can be carried by wild birds, and it can spread through the whole flock, causing respiratory issues (sneezing, congestion) as well. It lasts about 3-4 weeks, and may cause wrinkled or thin egg shells. Glad to hear that there is improvement with the Valbazen wormer.

Well it could have been a virus. Because although it did last closer to 2 months, I did notice several soft-shell and malformed eggs on the poop board and in nest boxes. I also had a couple of days where there were no eggs or maybe 2 eggs from my 11 chickens.
So I gave the second dose of Valbazen and at least now they are wormed.

I have a new puppy, so I'm glad this respiratory concern is under control.
