respiratory infection

Hello. Can you look at this video below of my chicken; I saw her doing this weird thing today and my son thinks it is a respiratory infection. If it is, can this problem affect the flock and affect the eggs? Is it in pain? It looks like it's trying to breathe or trying to make noise and can't.

Thank you.

Where are you located—state or country? Is the comb blue? He is gasping something awful, and I don’t know if he will make it. She could have almost anything—heart failure, gapeworm, Newcastles depending on your location, but it could be just severe respiratory distress. Look into her throat with a flashlight for anything stuck in there, such as a growth, mucus, or a piece of food. Has she been coughing or shaking her head, or having any watery eyes or nasal drainage?

Unsure if she has been eating or drinking; but the crop felt like the size of acorn size. I've separated her; we've looked down her throat but we are unsure what we are looking for. My son didn't see anything obstructing, but we're not really sure.

I don't know how long the chicken has had this, but she seemed normal this morning when I was giving out the feed. Should I start looking for signs in the other chickens? How long until I'm sure their fine if they don't develop symptoms.

Looks like this one chicken might have to go depending ... all I can do is look in the morning to see how she's doing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, we live in New England if that's a factor for any disease. Ventilation is in the coop and was designed that way when my family built the coop. But I'm a beginner, so I'm not totally sure what I'm doing here.

If she does not make it you should send her in for a necropsy to confirm what she died from so you know exactly what to look for and treat. Here in the US in Oklahoma my state does it for free but i am not for sure how New England is. You know your birds better than anyone. Keep an eye out for irregular behaviors you do not normally see. Sneezing, watery eyes, foamy eyes, discharge are some tell tell signs. I have heard of people owning birds with things like MG that never showed symptoms.

She did not make it; but she went out in style. She found a part of the cage that I had put her in that was nice and cool, so she was comfortable when she passed. Unfortunately, I'll have to now really monitor the rest of the flock.
