I think the survey explains it best:

1) Breed: Sebright , Age: 16 months, not sure about weight, doesnt seem any lighter than before.
2) Symptoms: Today he has begun sneezing quite alot and holding his beak open. He sometimes loudly croaks after sneezing a few times. There is a noticable gurgling sound when he breathes. Bubbley fluid coming from eyes. Nasal passages clear.
3) Past history: He has sneezed/croaked a fair bit in the past but this is the first time I've heard gurgling when he breaths.
4) Other chickens: They all sneeze occasionally but thats about it.
5) Visible trauma: Nope.
6) Possible cause: They were scratching around in the greenhouse earlier - possibly the dust has got into his respiratory system?
7) Diet: Layer pellets/oats/crackers and anything he finds round the garden.
8) Poo: Normal.
9) Treatment so far: None.
10 Self treat or Vet: Self treat.
11) Photo: N/A
12) House/bedding. 2 tier chicken coop, roosting slats and straw.

Any ideas?

Any chicken that has sneezing or gurgling going on in the airways, might benefit some antibiotics. There are many diseases that can cause respiratory ailments, so it is difficult to pin point.

Start him on a broad spectrum antibiotic like Duramycin. If any of the others are also beginning to show signs as well in the up coming days, you might get them all started on meds. Keep him on the meds for atleast 5 days past all signs of symptoms.

Oh, and welcome to BYC!
