Hi,
I have a 3mo old peachick that I see small bubbles watery eye, and I hear some gargling sound. I took him out of the pen.
Should I give Tylan 200 orally or give Denagard in water? Also in that growout pen I have 12 other peachicks should I give them in their water too as a preventative?

You need to know and treat the cause of the infection. Knowing that the most common causes of illness in chicks are cocci, worms, and dust allergies I would start with an antibiotic. I prefer injections but oral dosing also works, you just need to use more medication. I would also assess the feces for signs of cocci and worms. If having a fecal exam is not possible then you should also treat for both cocci and worms.

Preventative dosing with an antibiotic is never a good idea as it leads to antibody resistance. If you see a need for an antibiotic then by all means give it but not to birds that show no signs.

Look at their environment and eleminate dust if possible. You can't stop the wind from blowing but you can keep the dust and dander down with clean bedding or a grassy pen.

I treated Cocci 2weeks ago and their second dosage of safeguard a week ago. I don't think it's an allergen because a few days ago I heard a rooster sneeze he is not in the same pen but that rooster had been roaming freely. So I'm scared this chick caught it. I did catch that rooster put him in a cage away from the birds and will cull him. His eyes were bubbly.
What's the dosage for injection of Tylan?

For the cocci I used that Pentacox 12ml per gal.
As for dewormer I used Safeguard in a scrambled egg 1ml.
That is perfect dosing, I applaud you. I would dose with 0.30 ml of Tylan 200 injected just under the skin not in the meat as injecting into the meat will cause necrosis. You will need to give injections for three to five days or until you see improvements.

Thank you, I will do that!
Much appreciate your help! 🤗
