One of my poults looks to be breathing out of it's mouth. I took it to the water thinking that maybe it was thirsty. It looked to spit out a bit of mucous (clear). I held him in my hands and he went to sleep, but was still opening his mouth sporadically to breath. Is there anything I can do for him at this stage? I'm in England so it's not like I can pop to a store to buy meds as not that many people keep poultry round here.

What should I do? Should I be separating him from the rest? Should I consider culling him? Or is it like something inconsequential?

TIA

Nothing to report really. I thought it was likely a goner as I'd heard how difficult poults are to raise. They are over three weeks old now and given that we're currently going through a heatwave over here, I've taken them off the heat. I sold seven and am left with four - they all appear very healthy and are doing great

No idea what the little guys issue was but whatever it was, it sorted itself out

Last year, one of my six had issues for the first 4-5 days. I would get droopy and gasp for breath. I gave it antibiotics and electrolytes, kept putting it back into the incubator for a while, which seemed to help. I was sure it was going to die, but them it perked up and grew out of it. Interestingly enough, though, this was the only one of the six that had slightly curled toes, and this is the tom that had the heat stroke on me back in April, so I do believe he is slightly weak in some way, for whatever reason.
