So I went into the garage the other day and heard some purring noises coming from a weird direction and found I had quail everywhere, my 12 year old apparently didn’t get the door on one of the pens shut and we had to have a talk about paying attention. Today I got home from work and checked the chicks in the brooder and was missing a couple. They were just behind the brooder, hanging out on the other side of the plastic, I hadn’t noticed at first because the plastic is shiny and reflects the chicks in the brooder making it look like they are all out. This one was my fault, I hadn’t put the lid on yet though I knew they were starting to flutter, guess it is my turn for a lecture! Happily all our free range quail weren’t out long and are pretty easy to catch!

Mistakes happen, "pobody's nerfect."

I messed up recently in a way that's just too complicated to explain, involving putting the wrong cockerel in a pen of cockerels and nearly getting him killed by the others. In a subsequent case of mistaken identity, I then took him to the butcher to be processed. Ah well, he would have ended up there later anyway. But I still felt bad about it.
