Rest in Peace, Bo

This afternoon our 19 year old African Grey Parrot passed away. He was a character. Was a talker.

Who knows how long your cockatiel sister (18 years old) will last without you talking to her. All of us will miss you. Rest in Peace Bo. You were loved so much.

She is doing alright so far, then again it hasn't been 24 hours. She chirped waited for him to chirp back. Has been quiet after no response. She did it again this morning same response with no chirp back. She did eat some, not as much as normal. We won't be surprised if she gives up on life, they were bonded in their own way. He would have been 20 the end of August.
Was so strange this morning not having Bo doing his morning greet and demanding his breakfast. Or seeing his cage by my recliner. Too dang quiet without him.

She is getting lots of attention. Didn't eat much today. Been very quiet today. Sitting on the side of the food dish.
It is amazing how two different species of birds bonded. Got her a year after him so they were buddies all of her life.
She just moved up to her favorite perch. Last night slept on her food dish. Time will tell.

I’m so sorry that you lost Bo! I wonder if you have any pictures handy of Bo looking spiffy and enjoying the good life that he no doubt lived? When you are ready, it might be nice to celebrate what was surely a wonderful life...

I don't know cage birds well only had canaries and a Java Temple Bird but, wonder if you put up a big picture of Bo, if she would talk to it and feel better.
