So my most amazing, awesome chicken ever, and the first of mine that considered herself a pet as much as I did, passed today.
I hatched Frankie from a grocery store egg on a whim in the height of Covid, July 2020.

She always had a big personality, right from the start. She was the only egg that hatched out of 6 set.
She busted right out of her shell as if to say, “Here I am world, watch out!”🤣
She was always accepting of other birds, loved meal worms and was known to wander a bit. Curious and very intelligent, she loved hopping into my lap on her terms for a few pats.
This past week she just hadn’t been herself.
Moving slowly and comb droopy. Tried the usual interventions, she seemed to perk up a bit, but we all had a feeling it was her time.
She was a production chicken, the egg she hatched from came from such a place. I knew she would not have a long life, but I was hoping for more time.
She was loved dearly and will be missed.
Keeping chickens just won’t be the same without her.❤️

Frankie in all her glory about a month ago.

Oh I'm so sorry 😭 I remember when you hatched her. Gone far too soon - it's always the good ones that pass on early...
Thank you! I remember you were on the thread way back when I was trying to figure out what breed she was.❤️

❤️ Thank you for sharing Frankie's story. She must have been a ray of light in the midst of Covid's gloom! So sorry you couldn't have enjoyed her longer, but I am sure you will never forget her. :hugs
Thank you ❤️
She was a very special bird.🙂
