Rest in peace, Napoleon

I am so sorry for your loss. He was such a handsome man. Anyone who has never been blessed with the love of an animal is missing out on so much. I too have tears just streaming down my face. Thank you for loving your babies as much as we do. It really is amazing how blessed we become when we love one of Gods creatures.

Just wanted to say...

Nappy Jr., as I've taken to calling him in my mind, has not taken his father's place. However, he has been a delight to watch anyway.

A few months ago Junior was injured in a fight with the top rooster, Prince William, we believe. One eye's vision was at least heavily impaired; I believe he is blind in it. However, he continues life happily and with as much zeal as before. Like his father before him he is gentle toward the hens and toward us.

Just the other day I caught him nestled down in some tall grass, comfortably sitting and occasionally pecking at some grass seeds. It was so cute!

I still miss Napoleon; his quirks, his presence. I miss him more than I've missed any chicken before. I'm glad, though, that he has joined his nestmates in heaven. (BTW, correction on the story I posted: I mentioned that Napoleon should ask God to calm Solo down a bit. I realized now that Solo would be burning in the pits of hell.

I am so sorry for your loss. Yes, animals are individuals and nothing can quite take the place of a special one. Napoleon will always have a special place in your heart. That was a very beautiful tribute.

Sending you hugs and prayers....
