it was almost a year ago when someone dumped to male kittens off infront of our house. We aren't cat people....hobby said No No No..So they stayed. Both were sweet but Velcro stuck to us. He trained our GSD to no longer chase cats after 11 years. He loved to ride in the golf cart...he followed us across all the property like a.dog. He.was a special cat who had no fear...he smacked emu in the head. But his fearlessness led to his passing.
Today we were unloading feed....one of the hydraulic lines broke so we had to drop the load down quickly. Hubby sat it down and began disconnecting the line...the load settled a little more. The we heard a.noise and saw feet moving under the pallet. Velcro had crawled under the pallet when the tractor was.still...and when the line was removed it sunk ontop of him...the pallet skid across his neck. Hubby tried to get the loader up...but it would not budge. We pried up the palettebut it was to late..I tried tp so CPR as.Hubby.cries....he was his buddy...hat cat loved him...but he was gone...I felt so bad..I just had to put down my one house Silkie...and now we lost Velcro...the best cat ever... Hubby ia still ao very sad. We still have Meko. .his brother...who has been looking foe Velcro...just so sad.

I'm so very sorry. So very frequently indeed it is "curiosity " that kills the cat. I feel great sympathy for your husband and you.

I'm so very sorry. I too have a cat named Velcro. Losing a pet is never easy but I hope you take some comfort from this excerpt -

Oh this is so sad, I'm so sorry for you and your hubby. I once had the misfortune to have backed a truck over a cat that just wanted to be close to me.


There are some special cats that seem to have been born to transform non-cat people into cat lovers; they seem determined to refute all the stereotypes. Sounds like your Velcro was such a cat. And though his life was so short, it sounds like he had a good life with you, one where he was truly loved and appreciated.

Thank you all.... He was a special one..that's what makes it so hard. .it was such a freak accident...the pallet was on the ground already. He went under it by a channel in the ground the tire made. When Hubby took off the hose the loader settled more...right where he must have been. He wasn't squashed.....the rail just hit him in the wrong spot..cutting off his air. ..maybe breaking his neck but didn't feel that way... Just such a freak thing to happen. We tried to be careful.around him because of how curious he.was....just such a shame.
