Restaurant Grade Quality Milled Corn Grits.

I'll have to see what I find this fall. Besides alfalfa we see a lot of brome and grass hay in this area. I used to live in the country and we had horses and a goat. Now in the city, so hard to go ask a neighbor about buying a few bales of hay.

Thanks for the 411. We feed it as a treat. Mostly cubes. But when from bales it's mostly seasonal. Also fed in moderation. When fed very little and "wet", it is devoured so fast it has no chance to slime.
They literally clean the pans as if a dog licked it clean.
Thank you for the nutrition value though. Very helpful. We will continue to use more cubes than bales now

Farmer Connie, so funny. I understand the hobby being a job, happened to me with quilting. I'll get back to it eventually but burned out from the pressure of quilting for others. How long do you soak the flower parts?

Pecheron, that sounds like a fun chicken project.
Soaked for less than 5 mins for solid cubes and a dollar store spray bottle for bale hay. Cubes are compressed solid and need a short dip. Again, we do this as a "treat".
This is what we do and it works for us. I am sure there are other delivery methods. To each their own. Thanks for responding.

I've never looked for alfalfa cubes are they similar in composition to the alfalfa pellets the pet stores have for rabbits and guinea pigs?
Sorry, not familiar with pellets. Never used them before.. Although our vet recommended them for our goats during the winter season when our pasture grass was dormant.

I just remember them from when my now grown daughters brought the classroom rabbits home over weekends or holidays to take care of. LOL My goats ate hay and horse feed in the winter.
