Well, I didn't have my usual good luck, but it could have been worse:

15 Black Copper and Wheaten Marans went into the incubator.

4 were tossed out after the first candling.

4 pipped but then died in their shells.

1 chick mysteriously died at the tender age of three days.

I'm left with 1 Black Copper and 5 Wheatens. The latter are particularly cute.

I don't know why we had so many pips that didn't make it. The humidity in the incubator was around 60%.

Shipped eggs are a risk thats for sure...from eggs that were shipped I have had success of 19 out of 23 to a big fat 0 on others...Try uppering your humidity on the last 3 days...

From day 1 to 18 I get good clean hatches with 40 to 50% range in humidity and last 3 days 60 to 70% range for my part of the country...

Glad you got some to hatch out...
