This is the side entrance right after I put down one of my Welcome mats last night. I love these French doors!

Turning around and facing my front yard and driveway, this is the view across my front yard.

This is the view out of one of my living room windows.

As one enters the house through that side entrance into the utility room, the water heater and well pump pressure tank are immediately to the right.

My plan is to build a partial wall and install folding doors to block the view but allow access to the things. The washer and dryer I will have to buy will go against the house wall to the right side of this photo.

After unloading the stuff in the back of my Rav4, I turned on a light in the second bedroom closet, so there is SOME light on.... This weekend I'll get more in the house, including a lamp on a timer in the living room.

Then I locked up the place and headed over to have a congratulatory glass of GOOD wine and a tri-tip dinner with HHandbasket and Farmer Lew.

Not gonna drive up tonight (Friday - the beginning of the Memorial weekend rush to the Sierras for holiday camping and whatnot) but I'll pack the car and go up Saturday morning for appointments with D Fence Man, the well & pump fellas, and to clean the inside of the fridge. Ewwwww.

FYI Linda… might wanna come up tonight after all. There are a bunch of wine-tasting events tomorrow up here at the wineries, and I ink traffic all the way from the Shenandoah Valley on up to Somerset is gonna be wild tomorrow. Ain't nobody heading up this way tonight.

Also, I just found out that next weekend is the Fairplay Wine Festival. You pay one small fee and can spend the whole day going to all of the wineries in Fairplay and visit all the tasting rooms. I would love to go see what they have up at Fitzpatrick, and I heard the barbera up at Single Leaf will give the Helwig's barbera a run for their money (but I am partial to Helwig's anyway LOL).
