Congratulations on your win!!!!!! It doesn't look like they told you a certain number, just a suggestion to cut down on the roosters. Glad to see that the code enforcement man had stopped by and actually checked out the supposed "smell". We all know if you keep things clean then there is no smell. Now you can breathe and concentrate on other things, like working on John!!

We can all exhale now and breathe a sigh of relief! I'm so happy this went the way it did, and the code enforcement officer really seemed to be on Linda's side which I am sure helped her a lot.

Phooey on the guy that doesn't think 52 chickens can be pets!

Been over here doin' the happy dance since I got the news yesterday!

I slept the sleep of the relieved last night.... and quite a bit late this morning, too. Got up to open the coop people door - I like to leave it open during the day because it encourages the shyer birds to come out. Nugget followed me into the coop and took offense at my ankle-length nightshirt flapping as I walked. He grabbed my hem and flogged it/me for a whole two flaps. Cracked me up. Once I walked him backwards all of three steps, and tucked my nightshirt around my legs so it didn't flutter, all was good.

Looked around my yard at the happy chickens, ducks and geese. Listened to all the crowing. Skritched Carl's chest when he jumped to the porch railing and crowed. Came back inside and snuggled into the recliner with Dooley, Zorro and Smudge and slept some more with the TV set on.

I'm just curious what the guy across the street is going to do when he STILL hears roosters crowing, STILL sees lots of feathered bodies walking around, DOESN'T see trucks coming to load up the chickens.........I'd give a lot to know what he thinks when he learns that you WON and you don't have to get rid of a single chicken, don't have to move, don't have to muzzle the roosters.......I'd love to be a fly on the wall and hear his reaction! It would be worth plenty!

So happy that you won, Linda. This is the way it's supposed to be, but seldom is. People (city folk) automatically think chickens are noisy and smelly and are not willing to concede that with the right care, they don't have to be.
