Hello. We just moved to Warren, Oregon and to be close to our kids and grandkids after retiring from growing and selling cut flowers. We have a beautiful little 2 acre piece of land with a home and garage and a creek. I brought my little flock of Speckled Sussex (3 hens and a rooster) down with us along with their beautiful house my husband made for them. We plan to get a small flock of Ancona ducks in the spring. I have used ducks to keep my organic flower garden free of slugs and earwigs for years, but decided to leave my older flock of ducks behind and buy ducklings in the spring.

I am a dahlia fanatic! I plan to continue growing dahlias and working with breeding new varieties once i get my garden built. I also love roses and flowering shrubs and annuals and perennials and........ My body can't handle loading the car for market anymore due to arthritis but I totally loved what I was doing and it is really hard to not get to go sell at Farmer's Market each week. But I will be an active member of my local dahlia club. And I have a smaller garden planned of my favorite English Roses....after that, who knows...maybe bu8ilding a streamside garden along the creek with my grand daughter!

welcome - I have two call ducks . Do you think they could do slug duty in the garden? I half tried last year but they just stepped on a lot of baby plants and squashed them. I really was trying to separate them both so they wouldn't fight so much. It was spring like May.
